Election Day is Tuesday, September 1; results and ballot-counting livestream will be available after polls close

(Boise, ID — 08/31/2026) — The Boise School District encourages all eligible District residents to vote in the 2026 Boise School Board Trustee Election on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Voters may cast their ballots at any of the polling locations listed on the District’s election website. Completed absentee ballots must be returned to the District Services Center, 8169 W. Victory Road, by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Voters will select one trustee to serve a four-year term. The candidates are Andy Hawes and Kirt Naylor. The six-year trustee position is uncontested and will not appear on the ballot.

After polls close, election results will be posted periodically throughout the evening on the District’s election website, beginning with absentee and early-voting results. Updates will also be shared on the District’s social media channels: X, Instagram, Threads and Facebook.

The public may also watch a livestream of ballots being processed beginning at 8:00 p.m. through the District’s election website and YouTube channel.

The trustees selected to serve in both the contested and uncontested races will be sworn into office during the regular Boise School Board meeting on September 14, 2026. Learn more about the 2026 Trustee Election on our website
